Jan Kulczyk


He was born on June 24, 1950 in Bydgoszcz. His first company he founded with money received from his father. In 1980 he funded one of the first after World War II Polish firms.

Another good move Jan Kulczyk was a contract with Volkswagen in 1988; he was the official dealer of the brand in Poland. In 1991, he became the first large suppliers of cars for the police. In the same year he registered a company Kulczyk Holding, which in 1993 was transformed into a joint stock company, headed by sat as president. Among its investments are: Polish Telecommunications SA, TUiR Warta S.A., Polish Telefonia Cyfrowa, PKN Orlen.

In 2005, he moved to London where he began to oversee international investment. In 2007, he founded Kulczyk Investment. In 2012, Forbes named it the richest Pole.

He died on 29 July 2015.
